Since the reign of Peter the Great, sailing the waterways of Russia was a regular feature of the lives of the Romanovs. The Imperial yacht Standart, of Nicholas II, was so elegant and so well appointed that she was the envy of every monarch in Europe.
We will be offering two ways to cruise on the Volga Dream in 2012:
Our Waterways of the Tsars program includes hotel stays in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Exeter small group touring in each city with Exeter guides along with a six night cruise on the Volga Dream that includes all shore excursions. Please note that while on board the Volga Dream touring will be with other Volga Dream guests.
For programs that include our value hotel options please see our Volga Dream Gold Tour dates. The touring program in these cities is not as comprehensive when joining the Volga Dream Gold Tour and is provided by the Volga Dream and is with other Volga Dream guests.
The Volga Dream also sails the lower Volga between Moscow and Astrakhan. These unique fall departures allow exploration of an area of Russia not many visitors see. The ports along the route provide a glimpse into the daily life of Russians and an opportunity to learn of the country's unique history.
