The Renaissance of Elegant Travel to Eastern Europe and Russia

Poland

Extending your visit

Gdansk is often over looked by visitors to Poland but is truly a must-see.  Easily reached from Warsaw by flight or express train, this coastal community actually comprises three cities.  Our favorite is Sopot, where your hotel is just a short stroll from the Baltic sea shore.

Extend your time in Krakow and take a day trip (or two!) to southern Poland.  Visit with Polish highlanders in the small mountain town of Zakopane, once the getaway of Poland’s cultural elite.  Driving southwest from Krakow will take you to the area of Koniakow, famous for its lace production.  You may have the opportunity to visit a local lacemaker in her home workshop.

One of the best towns in Poland is still relatively unknown to most North American travelers.  The town of Wroclaw has been heralded as the “next Krakow” but more closely resembles a smaller version of Prague.  You will find a small city dominated by canals and twisting cobbled streets, with a large and lively Old Town square.
