Whether you have just one day in St Petersburg or are lucky enough to have more time to explore this beautiful city, we can plan a program that will make the most of your time in Russia. Moscow is just a short flight away and it would be a pity to miss it. Exeter International can customize your private excursion based on your specific interests. 

For those with just one day on shore you can choose from a morning admiring the splendour that is Peterhof and the afternoon exploring the most famous museum in the world, The Hermitage. Alternatively you could visit Catherine Palace with its acres of intricately hand laid parquet flooring, visit the Amber Room Workshops on our Exeter Extraordinary Experience followed by lunch and a tour of Pavlovsk, a country residence of the Russian Imperial family.

If you have a second day and did not visit The Hermitage the previous day, we can arrange a private tour of the Gold Treasure Rooms during your visit to the museum, an Exeter Extraordinary Experience, or take a backstage tour at the Mariinsky Theater and end the day with a private Canal Boat Ride.

A third day would enable you to complete the ultimate Russian experience and visit one of the palaces you missed and learn about the Romanovs by touring the Peter and Paul Fortress. 

Being in St Petersburg more than one day means that you will have the opportunity to enjoy some of the city’s wonderful evening performances including ballet or opera at the world famous Mariinsky (Kirov) Theater and the opportunity to meet with a ballerina after the performance at the Hermitage Theater.

If you have even more time before you board your cruise in St. Petersburg, it would be a shame to miss Moscow. Touring Red Square and the impressive grounds of the Kremlin will surely enhance your understanding of Russia. Cold War buffs should not miss Stalin's secret bunker, located near the Izmailovsky weekend-bazaar. Finally, a visit to Moscow would not be complete without experiencing the city's famed historic Metro and some of its amazingly decorated stations.
