Denmark
Copenhagen
is the land of bicycles where long summer days bring the local population out onto the streets and make this a wonderful city to stroll while your guide explains the culture and way of life. TivoliGardens provide an opportunity for some quaint frivolity and the Old Fish Market and Nyhavn should not be missed.
Sweden
The apparent serenity of Stockholm belies the art, history and vibrant culture of the city. The medieval Gamla Stan (OldTown) is a maze of narrow streets and contrasts with the sleek ultra-modern Swedish Design galleries. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to sip an aperitif at The Ice bar where all the fixtures are made of ice (they provide a parka for your comfort) or relax on an old-fashioned steamboat ride to Drottningholm Castle, home to Sweden’s royal family.
Norway
Norway
is synonymous with the Vikings and Oslo is a 1000 year old city that allows you to relive the explorations of some of the country’s greatest adventurers. The arts are also well represented by such Norwegians as Henrik Ibsen and Edvard Greig and you can enjoy the works of Edvard Munch at the MunchMuseum or the murals and carvings of Henrik Sorenson at the Radhuset (City Hall).
Bergen
is a quaint city set at the base of MountFloyen and the funicular trip to the top will reward you with spectacular views of the city.
A walking tour of the city will include Bryggen's, the ancient Haseatic wharf with 900 years of history and visits to BryggensMuseum and the HanseaticMuseum as well as the city’s famous fish market. The Gallery Nygaten is considered to be the most spectacular gallery in Norway with breathtaking interiors and excellent exhibitions.
If you wish to see some of the spectacular fjords that Norway is so famous for you can experience the scenic Bergen Railway line, the breath-taking Flam Railway line, the Aurlandsfjord, the narrow Naeroyfjord and the steep Stalheimskleiva.
