The Renaissance of Elegant Travel to Eastern Europe and Russia

Turkey

Where East meets West stands one of the most fascinating cities in the world – Istanbul. From the stunningly beautiful mosques that dot the city to the exotic Spice and Grand Bazaars, the sights and sounds of Istanbul take you back to an age when sultans rode on stallions through the streets of their realm.

Cappadoccia lies in the center of the country and offers an out-of-this-world landscape with troglodyte cave dwellings and the famed “fairy chimneys” of Anatolia. An early morning balloon ride through the valley of fairy chimney’s will never be forgotten. Not far away is the home of the Whirling Dervishes in Konya.

On the Aegean coast of Turkey lies Ephesus, one of the most celebrated of ancient cities. Originally dating back to the 10th century BC, Ephesus contains the largest collection of Roman ruins east of the Mediterranean.  The Mediterranean coast of Turkey boasts numerous ancient ruins including Aspendos, Perge, Olympos and Xanthos. This area is set in a landscape of pine forests, olive and citrus groves, and palm, avocado and banana plantations and is bathed in sunshine for more than 300 days of the year.
