Ukraine: Kiev & Crimea
Extending Your Visit
Located on the northern shore of the Black Sea, Odessa was built by order of Catherine the Great in 1794 and is a vibrant and energetic city full of history and culture, which embodies the ever-evolving spirit of Ukraine. Strolling down the picturesque harbor front, one cannot miss the famous Odessa Opera House and the Potemkin Steps, which descend grandiosely 455 feet down to the sea front.
The city of Lviv, in the western part of the country, will charm you with its Renaissance architecture, a feel of 19th Century Vienna, unique Art Nouveau mansions, and its multi-ethnic culture. The beautiful streets of the Old Town (a UNESCO World Heritage monument) strongly resemble Krakow, as Lviv was once a part of Poland.
