Extending Your Visit
We highly recommend extending your time in Austria to include a visit to Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart. Salzburg is only a quick three-hour train ride from Vienna. You may see some of the famous sites where the movie “The Sound of Music” was filmed, explore the Lake District including Lake Wolfgang, and tour the former mountain residence of Hitler located in the Bavarian Alps.
You also might consider a few nights in the enchanting city of Prague. There is no better time to visit, when theater is in season and the museums are uncrowded. Prague is also just a few hours away by train.
