Munich is often most closely associated with Oktoberfest – the largest beer party in the world. However, we think that Munich is much more: a cosmopolitan city with a well-preserved medieval center and a fantastic array of art museums and galleries. Outside the city you will find majestic castles tucked into the sweeping scenery of the Bavarian Alps and lakes- including the fanciful Neuschwanstein, so stunning that Walt Disney used it as a model to create his Cinderella’s Castle.
Just over the border is the city of Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart. Salzburg’s small-town atmosphere gives way to beautiful natural scenery where “The Sound of Music” was filmed.
Vienna is one of the most picturesque capitals of Europe and offers a wealth of museums, world-class theaters and fine dining. Walk in the footsteps of the Hapsburgs through their splendid baroque palaces or stroll through the city’s historic city center, where you will find boutiques, shops and restaurants to suit any palate.
