Casa Fronius, Sighisoara

Casa Fronius, Sighisoara

A traditional Saxon hotel, Casa Fronius has a charming location at the foot of the 175 covered wooden Scholars' Stairs, which date from 1642. The former house of the Fronius family, it was one of the only buildings to survive the devastating fire in 1676. From here, it is easy to explore all of Sighisoara's sites.

Casa Fronius has just seven rooms, each with its own style. In some of them, the gothic ceilings still bear the marks of the great fire. The furniture is classic, having being purchased piece by piece from all over Transylvania. There is a small bar in the old cellar and the tables bear inscriptions from 1822 or 1900.
