Tatra Mountains

A designated UNESCO biosphere and protected national park, the High Tatras is a beautiful pine forest with abundant flora and fauna. It’s a natural habitat for eagles, bears, marmots and the rare and highly protected chamois. The chamois is the symbol of the Tatra region. It is unique to these mountains and has developed in relative isolation since the ice age. The park has over a hundred Alpine lakes and several Karst rock formations and caves. For the actively inclined, it is a beautiful natural setting to go for hikes or bike rides.
