Day 1
Arrival | Bergen Bergen, Norway

Upon arrival into Bergen, you will be greeted just outside of baggage claim for your transfer to your hotel.

This afternoon, your guide will introduce you to the charming town of Bergen. Just steps from your hotel is the Old Bryggen, the original settlement of Bergen. Here just ten of the original gabled houses on the harbor still stand.

The city’s oldest surviving church, St. Mary’s, dates back to the 11th century. The Hanseatic merchants worshipped in this church and the detailing is testament to their generous donations.

The fish market is a “must see” and can be quite lively with locals. This is the place to sample different types of fish and meats. Try to taste the difference between wild or farmed salmon or maybe sample some reindeer sausage.

Afterwards, take the funicular to the Fløv Mountains for a truly spectacular view overlooking the city. You may choose to spend some time on the mountain, hiking around the various trails or hike down the mountain instead of taking the funicular.

Day 2
Bergen - Balestrand | Bergen - Balestrand Balestrand, Norway

Today you will depart Bergen and begin your exploration of the fjords of Norway.

Depart on the train to Myrdal, where you will then board the historic the Flamsbana train, which takes you up some of the steepest train tracks in the world, passing by waterfalls, lush mountain sides, and into the heart of the Sognefjord, the king of the fjords.

Disembark the train in the tiny village of Flam. depending on your schedule, you might have time to explore a bit, stroll through the shops or grab a bite to eat.

Then board the express boat to continue though the fjord to Balestrand. Cruise along the towering mountains to arrive to Balestrand and the charming Kviknes hotel, set right on the fjord.

Tonight dine at the hotel with a view overlooking the fjord or take a short walk to the Ciderhuset to have a taste of the locally produced ciders. Reservations will be made on your behalf. The cost of your meal is payable locally. Your walk will take you past homes with typical Norwegian architecture and a stave church which serves as inspiration for the Disney movie “Frozen.”

Day 3
Balestrand - Norangsfjord | Balestrand - Norangsfjord Norwegian Fjord

This morning, your rental car will be delivered to the Kviknes. The car rental is not included in the trip cost and is paid locally. A manual midsize car is 11900NOK (about $1,200USD) and an automatic car is 14450NOK ($1, 450USD).

Your drive will take you by Sogndal, a small village perfectly situated along the Sognefjord, Norway’s longest and deepest fjord. Enjoy the scenery of quaint villages doting mountain sides and crystal waters.

Make your way to Jostedal Glacier where you will enjoy a private guided hike up the largest glacier in continental Europe. Your glacier guide will provide you will cramp-ons and an ice axe for stability on the ice. After tethering together, you will climb the frozen giant to a plateau on the ice, offering you unparalleled views over the valley below. Along the way, you will pass ice walls, crevasses, and streams passing through the glacier.

Afterwards, continue your drive to the Norangsfjord. At times, you may feel like the only people for miles as you navigate the road twisting and turning through the mountains. Serene lakes reflect the grandeur surrounding you.

Evening arrival to the charming Hotel Union Øye where you will be greeted by staff in traditional Norwegian clothing.

Day 4
Geirangerfjord | Geirangerfjord Geirangerfjord, Norway

Today, we suggest that you take the time to explore Geiranger. Your journey includes a thirty minute drive to Hellesylt, where you will take the car ferry along the beautiful Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Cost of ferry included. The ferry ride includes commentary on the sights along the way, including the famous Seven Sisters waterfall.

When you arrive to Geiranger there is a small village to explore.

We suggest testing your nerves on Norway’s two most famous roads, the Eagle Road and Trollstigen Road. The Eagle Road, offers panoramic views of the Geirangerfjord (don’t forget to stop at one of the viewpoints). A short ferry crossing will bring you to Linge where you will continue by car to the Troll Road, one of Norway’s best known tourist attractions. The road has 11 turns and the highest point is 858 meters above sea level. Dramatic, exciting and the ultimate nature experience.

Afterwards, head back to Geiranger to board the ferry. Arrival back to Hellesylt, and then the 30 minute drive back to Hotel Union Øye

Day 5
Norangsfjord - Storfjord | Norangsfjord - Storfjord Storfjord Hotel

Today depart at your leisure for Hotel Storfjord. The drive is approximately two hours. Your drive will take you along the scenic Hjørundfjord.

You may choose to stay at Hotel Union Øye this morning for a bike or hike though the stunning valley or maybe even a snorkeling excursion.

You may also want to consider a visit to the Loen Sky Lift. Via cable car, ascend to the mountain top, over 3,000 feet in just five minutes. Take in the stunning scenery in the restaurant up top or spend some time hiking around. This lift is one of the steepest cable cars in the world.

Day 6
Storfjord | Storfjord Songefjord, Norway

Enjoy your day at leisure. Hike around the hotel’s property or we can arrange for a hiking excursion around the Sunnmøre Alps. The secluded area offers majestic mountains rising up from beautiful narrow fjords.

Bike or kayak rentals are possible as well. their history and enjoy a meal with them. A visit to a local farm is a great way to meet the locals, learn about

Day 7
Storfjord - Onward | Storfjord - Onward Sognefjord, Norway

Today depart for the Ålesund airport and return your rental car for your departing flight. Your drive time is about 30 minutes.
