Day 1
Perennial Dubrovnik |

This morning your guide and driver will meet you at your cruise ship and will take you to the southernmost tip of Croatia. Begin with a stop in Cavtat, the ancient Roman Ephiderium. Visit the Nicola monastery, where paintings and sculptures from 15th century along with objects made of church silver are displayed.

Continue to Konavle, one of the most traditional regions in Croatia and the southern Dalmatian countryside, where many of the old ways of life, clothing and culture continue to exist. Visit an old water-mill. The mill owner has prepared a special treat of dried figs and travarica for you. Travarica is a local Dalmatian brandy said to have healing powers.

Exeter International Extraordinary Experience

Visit a local enologist who is rapidly becoming famous. Known for dry wines and exquisite sweet Prosek (dessert wine) that he makes from rare indigenous grapes.

Konavle is also known for its excellent cuisine and we recommend having a late lunch or early dinner at the restaurant Konovaski Dvori, a traditional southern Dalmatian restaurant located on the banks of the Ljuta river. (Cost of meal is not included).

Return to Dubrovnik’s historic center for a walking tour.

Start at Pile Gate which is one of the two extremities of the walled city. Descend down the stone steps of the fortification to the old Harbor Front. You will emerge at Dubrovnik’s main Square, the Loggia Loza, at the eastern extremity of the Stradun, which runs through the walled city.

Visit the Church of St. Blaise with its distinctive baroque façade. Step into the Rector’s Palace, next door. The Rector was the highest authority in the city and his palace now houses the Museum of Dubrovnik with over 15,000 works on display.

Next door to the Rector’s Palace is the ancient town hall that houses the National Theater of Dubrovnik. Your guide will also take you into the Dubrovnik Cathedral and its treasury famous for its ancient relics. If you are interested, you may also visit the Sephardic Synagogue, one of the oldest temples in Europe.

Browse shops containing jewelry, souvenirs, clothing, perfume and more. Do not forget to visit one of the delicious gelaterias before departing! This afternoon, meet your driver at a prearranged location for your transfer back to the cruise ship or to the tender port.
