Day 1
Picturesque Visby |

Your guide will meet you on the pier for the tender from your ship for your private tour of Visby.

Visit the best preserved medieval city in Scandinavia. Visby, named a UNESCO world heritage site, still maintains its two-mile long stone wall medieval fortification.

Your guide will tell you the tragic story behind Maiden’s Tower. Pause at Powder Tower, which is the oldest fortification tower in Visby. Within these walls are numerous ancient buildings including the Visby Sweden Cathedral, houses from the Middle Ages and the Dominican Monastery of St. Nicholas.

Continue to the Botanical Gardens, which have given the city its nickname, the “City of Roses”. Founded in 1855 to educate the young people of Visby about nature, you will find a variety of plants normally found in warmer climates.

Cars are banned in the Old Town during the summer months so you can enjoy strolling the cobbled streets and view the original Hanseatic harbor. Visby is home to many artists and you will find numerous studios featuring ceramics, textiles and metalwork.

Return to the tender pier in time for your departure.
