Exeter International Extraordinary Experience
Today we have an appointment at the soaring St. Stephens Cathedral with its unusual colored ceramic tile roof. Our guide will take us through the interior of the cathedral and then we will head to the roof, literally! Take a special elevator and walk through the attic. We will then head right out on to the roof of the cathedral. This (safe!) walk will give us one of the more unusual perspectives of historic Vienna.

Early this evening we’ll meet for a welcome cocktail and a slice of the famed Sacher Torte! The perfect start to your Vienna experience.

Shopping Experience

This morning, for those who would like, we will have appointments at a local formalwear rental spot. You can select from a variety of ballgowns and tuxedos and what you select will be fitted and delivered to the hotel in time for the ball. The cost of rental is payable locally.

Today our special shopping guide will take us to discover all the best of Vienna shopping. We will be using public transportation and walking to some of the most beautiful small spots in the city center – from a historic jeweler, to stunning porcelain, to gorgeous crystal. In Vienna, fine craftsmanship is revered and we will discover some of the best at their craft.

Viennese Palaces

This morning we will meet our guide for an early start and board the local tram to head to the nearby Belvedere Palace and Gardens. Today we have a special pre-opening entrance into the palace, before it opens to the public.

This palace, built as the summer residence of Prince Eugene of Savoy, is situated on a gently sloping hill. The two main palaces (upper and lower) are linked by formal French gardens and both now house wonderful art collections. Upper Belvedere holds a wonderful collection of 19th- and 20th-century art, while the lower palace houses a fine collection of art and sculpture from Vienna’s Golden Age (approximately 1683 to 1780).
We will then continue on via tram to visit one of the city’s most gorgeous private palaces.

Exeter International Extraordinary Experience
Today enjoy a privately guided visit to the Lichtenstein Palace’s amazing art collection. You will see the private art collection of the Prince von and zu Liechtenstein, containing masterpieces of art from the early Renaissance to the Biedermeier era. A particular highlight is a visit to some of the staterooms here, taking you back in time to the imperial era and all perfectly restored. It’s the perfect opportunity to see an imperial palace without the crowds at the public palaces.

After some free time this afternoon we’ll all come back together and walk to the nearby dance studio. Today we will step into the world of movement and rhythm at Elmayr Dance School, nestled in the heart of Vienna, where elegance meets energy in every step. From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed into a warm, inviting atmosphere where passion for dance is celebrated, whether you’re lacing up for the very first time or refining your technique as an experienced performer. Today we will have an hour with private instructors to learn the basics of the Viennese Waltz and the typical “rules” of the ball.

Ball Time!

Today is at leisure for pre-ball preparation. We are happy to help you schedule your spa, hair, and makeup bookings. All services are at your own expense.

This evening we will meet in the lobby of the hotel for professional photos in all our finery against the backdrop of the most iconic hotel in the city.

We’ll then step into one of the restaurants on-site for a pre-ball dinner, including three delectable courses.
After dinner, our fleet of horse-drawn carriages will meet us at the Sacher for the journey to the Hofburg Palace.

Step into a world of glittering elegance and timeless tradition at the Vienna Kaffeesiederball, one of Austria’s most prestigious annual events and it’s held in the opulent grandeur of the Vienna Hofburg Palace.

The Kaffeesiederball is not merely an event—it’s a spectacular blend of the old and the new, where century-old traditions intertwine seamlessly with contemporary flair. Whether you are dancing the night away, admiring the stunning decor, or simply savoring the unique Viennese atmosphere, this event is an unforgettable experience of cultural and sensory delight.

The theme this year is Vienna Coffee House Culture – the Art of Coziness. We have premium seats adjacent to the dance floor in the main festival hall. The dance floor will be steps away for those who want to join the festivities. The table is also the perfect spot for people-watching this incredible event!

The ball lasts until 4:30AM! However, we will have a planned return transfer at 1AM for those who are ready to depart. Or – stroll back to the hotel on your own and do as the locals do and stop by one of the famous sausage stands for a late night sausage in all your finery!
