Split

About Split

Perfectly located in the center of the Dalmatian coast, Split is an ideal base from which to explore some of the nearby islands, the UNESCO town of Trogir, and Krka National Park. Feel the palpable sense of history as you stand in the heart of the city, essentially a 1,700-year-old living museum. Modern life buzzes about you as people live, work and socialize within the ancient walls of the Diocletian Palace (be sure to take an interior tour). Sit for a spell and soak up the cafe culture of Croatia’s second-largest city, or people-watch along the Riva, a broad walkway on the fringes of the old town, facing the sea. Stop into the Ivan Mestrovic Art Gallery, home to some of his finest sculptures. Explore the Cathedral of St. Domnius and, if you wish, tackle the steep stone stairs that lead to the tall Romanesque bell tower.

What's Unmissable

  • Immerse yourself in art with a private tour of the Mestrovic Gallery
  • Explore the nearby medieval town of Trogir
  • Spend a day enjoying nature in Krka National Park

Croatia's second city is dominated by the incredible Diocletian Palace complex, and will make you feel as though you are on a film set
